Case Study: Oil Tanker Market Forecasts

An asset management firm wanted to invest in real assets as an inflation hedge. Their experience in energy led them to consider oil tankers as a possible hedge. But which type and size of tanker? Using our econometric model developed over more than two decades, we created  five year earnings forecasts for each oil tanker segment along with regulatory, technical and commercial advice to assist in identifying assets to acquire.

Investing with an ESG Angle

An international financial institution wanted to establish a fund to invest in transport assets with an ESG flavour. We advised on the latest policy and regulatory developments in major maritime markets. We reviewed the latest investments in low carbon shipping and ports. We identified the most likely sectors, ship types and sizes to benefit an investor including an investment time line reflecting announced regulatory changes.

Case Study:
Due Diligence on a Shipyard 

On behalf of a government client reviewing the competitive landscape for shipbuilding, we analysed a potential shipyard merger including a proposed divestment of a high-tech shipbuilding division for establishment in a mothballed shipyard. Working to a tight time frame we conducted due diligence into the proposed shipyard reboot, providing contextual analysis of government support for shipbuilding in relevant countries.
